Badger Williams

March 10, 2018

Badger Williams, 14, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, passed away on March 10, 2018. He had the heart of a lion but, unfortunately, his small body could no longer keep up with his large heart and larger-than-life spirit.

Born on November 29, “Abby’s Little Firecracker” (his AKC name) became best known to most as the Fun Police, due to his need to bark and reign in any merriment; Mr. Carson, due to his uncanny ability to keep us all on schedule; or simply Badger Boo or Badger Man. He was an avid fetch player, loved belly rubs and ear scratches, and would never turn down a biscuit. He was also fortunate enough to have traveled up and down the entire East Coast of the United States, making friends everywhere he went.

He is survived by his human parents Daniel and Marcella, his human brother Elijah, his cat sister Gabby LaLa, his dog sister Ripley, and his biological father Tucker. He was predeceased by his cat brothers Del Gato and Fred Astaire and his dog sister Maggie May. There are also many other human family members and friends who are left to cherish his memory at this time.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received so far. They would also like to thank Armistead Animal Hospital for their compassionate care and the staff at Peninsula Pet Cremations for their kindness and professionalism every step of the way. If you would like to make a memorial donation on Badger’s behalf to a Corgi rescue organization, please do so at RescueMe.Org on behalf of Corgis.

My heart has been with you throughout the weekend as I can only imagine how hard it has been. We really enjoyed Badger’s company, he was a great little guy with a huge spirit. Much love to you guys.

What a sweet little bio. Everyone will miss Mr. “Fun Police”. I always found that part of his personality hilarious. He was lucky to have a good home as so many fur babies do not have that fortune.
I know how hard it is to lose a pup as they definitely feel like part of the family. I hope everyone is doing well.
Should I ever be on the east coast to visit, I know it will be sad not to have Bager there to greet me at the door. He was a sweet boy with an adorable personality.

I found this amazing quote: “Grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. Grief is the price of love.”

And knowing your family, the love you had and gave to Badger Boo was immeasurable! He’s got one amazing story to tell all his new friends on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. They’re all going to be SO JEALOUS!

Tucker tells me that he is heartbroken by this news. He so fondly remembers running around the yard with Mr. Badger as they needed Newman and Ripley during his mommy and daddy’s Festival de los Muertes. We will miss the little barrel shaped bundle of love.
